GrĂące Ă Netflix et Drive to Survive, on a redĂ©couvert la Formule 1 il y a trois ans, Ă lâoccasion dâune des sĂ©ries de sport les plus percutantes de notre gĂ©nĂ©ration. Histoires captivantes, prĂ©sence de Frenchies attachants, rivalitĂ©s, amitiĂ©s et galĂšres tous les ingrĂ©dients y Ă©taient pour nous tenir en haleine et, surtout, pour nous faire regarder la Formule 1 tous les week-ends de Grands Prix, essais et qualifications coup, forcĂ©ment, on sâest pris au jeu. LassĂ©s dâattendre LA sĂ©rie tous les ans, on a branchĂ© Canal+ chaque week-end. Push, push. Box, box. On est devenus fans, et de plus en plus incollables. Loin dâĂȘtre totalement au point quand mĂȘme, car nous restons des Formulix, mais le paddock nous Ă©tait de moins en moins mine de rien, cette annĂ©e, on attendait avec moins dâimpatience que les annĂ©es prĂ©cĂ©dentes cette saison 4 de Drive to Survive. Et le rĂ©sultat a Ă©tĂ© Ă la hauteur de nos maigres espĂ©rances toujours aussi sympa, mais quand mĂȘme pas ouf. Dâailleurs, lâomniprĂ©sence des directeurs dâĂ©curie dans cette saison 4, Ă commencer par Chris Horner Red Bull et Toto Wolff Mercedes, amĂšne un Ă©clairage diffĂ©rent sur âlâautre championnatâ, primordial pour beaucoup le championnat constructeurs. Pour les fans de la premiĂšre heure non, Cyril Abiteboul nâest plus lĂ , mais ce bon vieux GĂŒnther est toujours fidĂšle au revanche, en tant quâanciens nĂ©ophytes, on dĂ©couvre que Netflix aime beaucoup trop monter la sauce quand il sâagit de rendre sexy un documentaire, et on comprend donc mieux ce que les puristes de la F1, ou plus globalement ceux qui suivent le sport auto depuis bien avant les Formulix, reprochent Ă la sĂ©rie. Certains passages, quasi mensongers, racontent une tout autre rĂ©alitĂ©, un des narrateurs de la saison, le journaliste omniprĂ©sent Will Buxton, est un robinet dâeau tiĂšde, et on se demande si tout un Ă©pisode sur Mazepin Ă©tait vraiment de la saison quelques Ă©pisodes rĂ©ussis, notamment autour du fil rouge de la saison, la bataille entre Verstappen et Hamilton. Mais on sent que la dramaturgie de certains Ă©pisodes a clairement Ă©tĂ© âforcĂ©eâ, quâune bonne partie de la saison a Ă©tĂ© invisibilisĂ©e on voit TOUT LE TEMPS les mĂȘmes circuits, alors que la saison derniĂšre a connu Ă©normĂ©ment de rendez-vous et que Netflix force pour sĂ©duire un public jeune et avide de drama et de sensations fortes. Plus jeune, plus fĂ©minin, moins europĂ©en depuis quelques annĂ©es, la Formule 1 cherche un nouveau public et a rĂ©ussi son pari avec sa sĂ©rie "Drive to survive" sur Netflix, dont la troisiĂšme saison sort vendredi."C'est un des piliers de ce que nous avons tentĂ© pour ouvrir le sport, toucher un public plus large, tout en continuant de servir les passionnĂ©s", affirme Ă l'AFP Ian Holmes, directeur des droits mĂ©diatiques pour le promoteur du championnat du monde, Formula en janvier 2017 le groupe amĂ©ricain Liberty Media acquiert les droits commerciaux de la F1, mettant fin Ă 40 ans de rĂšgne du Britannique Bernie Ecclestone. DĂ©sormais, il suit les Grands Prix avec son fils de 4 ans, qui a retenu les noms de Bottas, Hamilton et Grosjean."C'est intĂ©ressant de voir les personnalitĂ©s parce que, Ă part leur casque, on ne connaĂźt pas trop les pilotes, remarque-t-il. Je n'Ă©tais pas trĂšs chaude", se souvient Mathilde, finalement conquise car "on est vraiment dans l'immersion".Claire, ses amis qui ont choisi Daniel Ricciardo comme icĂŽne de leur groupe WhatsApp et ses clients se sont aperçus qu'il regardaient presque tous la sĂ©rie."Comprendre un truc que j'ai dĂ©nigrĂ© pendant toute mon enfance auprĂšs de son pĂšre fan de F1, ndlr, c'est rigolo aussi", sourit celle qui ne se voit pas pour autant suivre les GP en entier, "plutĂŽt le dĂ©part et l'arrivĂ©e Ă Monaco, par exemple"."Je ne suis pas sĂ»re de capter tout ce qui se passe et je ne suis pas prĂȘte Ă regarder des courses tous les dimanche pour y arriver", la F1, c'est dĂ©jà ça de pris. "Si quelqu'un ne se met pas Ă suivre le sport en direct mais qu'il regarde 400 minutes de +Drive to survive+ la durĂ©e approximative d'une saison, ndlr, cela a quand mĂȘme de la valeur, pointe Holmes. Ce sont toujours des fans et c'est une maniĂšre plus large de capter leur attention. Nous pouvons interagir avec eux. ... Ils regardent, ils consomment.
